Sometimes, when life hands you problems you just can't solve on your own, it's best you lean on your friends (where friends = Facebook and Twitter) to help you out.
This is a true story. Names have been censored to protect the innocent.
In the end, we all realized it doesn't matter whether the X = hug or kiss as long as Avitable is happy.
But really, what do you think? Which is the X and which the O? Yahoo, Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary couldn't agree. Bring it, Internet.
Two of my favorite people. I'd hug and kiss you both. With tongue and shit.

X is a kiss. O a hug. Or so I've always been told. I refuse to believe it is a point of contention. I am sticking with what I know. It's like the zodiac sign thing- I refuse to even acknowledge that they've changed them. I refuse to acknowledge that anyone believed the O is the kiss.

Ha! I just think everyone should use B and J now instead of X and O. Everyone wins.

I've also always believed that X = kiss and O = hugs, though I do see the sense in the "hugs and kisses" match-up.
But, like you said, so long as Avitable is happy. :-)

I'm fully disappointed that you don't know the answer to this because the only reason I use xoxo is because of you. I want a refund. Of x's. or O's. Whichever is more valuable.

Is the X and O before or after the B and J?

BJBJ

X's are kisses to symbolize the puckered lips (doesn't everyone type :X to mean a kiss?) and O's are hugs (they symbolize the circle that the arms make when you wrap them around another person.)
And :O is a blow job face which clearly wins.

And the reason we type xoxo is because typing oxox looks like you're insulting someone by calling them an ox, which is counterproductive to the mood you want to convey by sending hugs & kisses.
Or that's my opinion.

X is the kiss, O is the hug.
