New Book Review
New vague book review of Jill A. Davis' novel Girls' Poker Night over here at the Undomestic Readers site.
Up next, I'm reading Augusten Burrough's latest A Wolf at the Table: A Memoir of my Father.

Well you guys are all smoke and no fire. Or however the saying goes. I'm continually updating the Undomestic Readers site which you can access by either clicking here or by clicking on that nifty little sidebar graphic to the left.
Just posted a vague review of Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me? here and am starting the next book, Jill A. Davis' Girls' Poker Night next for those interested. So whoop up some Megaritas and sit down with a good, fun, trashy read. It's summer for god's sake.
If you are reading along with us, the first book of the Not-A-Book-Club Book Club begins today... Jane Green's Swapping Lives. Monday we will start Augusten Burrough's Running with Scissors. You can follow along here.
All I'm sayin' is I think you're not gonna want to miss this... I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.
Because I'm egotistical that way, biatch.
For those who are interested in the Undomestic Readers (Not-A-Book-Club Book Club), I've posted the book list for this Summer's reading here... and oh yes, it's trashy. In a good way.
We've had a ton of great books already suggested, please keep your ideas coming. I want there to be a huge selection for everyone to choose from. Remember to give me the book title/author and describe the book in four words or less.
I'm working on the Undomestic Readers site now as well as working out the kinks as to how this is going to work. I'm thinking that since there will be a big variety of books to choose from, I might just call on some of you who suggested particular books to be "junior authors" on the blog, writing your own posts that pertain to your book so that people can follow you through it... Does that make sense? There's no way I can keep posts going on all these books at once. This way, people can be reading whichever of the books suggested - at their own pace - and not having to re-read something they've already read just because that's what I'm reading.
Anyway, hopefully you're picking up what I'm putting down.
In addition to more book suggestions, if you want to offer your opinion on the junior author thing, let me know how you feel about it and if you're interested. It's going to be a casual, write-what-you-feel-like-writing sort of thing... doesn't need to be in-depth or pulitizer prize worthy.
It's official - The Undomestic Diva's Not-A-Book-Club Book Club has its name (via your votes):
[Imagine drum roll]
Undomestic Readers
[Imagine a loud TA-DAA!!! and Price is Right hand movements showcasing the new name]
So I will get crack-a-lackin' on getting that site up and running. While I do that, please give me your most highly recommended books in the comments section of this post for consideration. That is, besides Janet Evanovich who I plan on including anyway. Remember that these books should be fun, easy, summer-y reads. Not something a gal would need the cliff notes for. The funnier, kookier, clever-er, hotter (oh yeah, I said HOTTER) and intense-er, the better. With the book's title and author, please also tell me in FOUR WORDS or less why you love this book. (Doesn't have to be a sentence, could just be key words. I'm easy.)
Congrats to She Who who came up with "Undomestic Readers." I will be mailing her a $20 gift card to (where else?) Starbucks.
They say coffee and chocolate are kissing cousins. If that's true, then I can't help but believe that coffee, chocolate and a good book must be the world's most perfect threesome. I'm just sayin'.
Can't wait to hear about your book ideas.
