Because you care, I had one of those weekends that wasn’t really much of a weekend but more of a couple of busy days that passed me by when all of the sudden it was Sunday night, almost technically Monday and well, what do you know? It was over. The kind of weekend that leaves you desperately needing a… weekend.
I can’t complain though. I don’t remember what happened Friday night because that was a whole two or three days ago but Saturday night was incredibly rad. I was all set to host a UFC 100 Pay Per View party at my house with Candy Ass when the stars aligned and a rare opportunity presented itself in the way of free tickets to see The Dan Band live down in L.A. courtesy of Busy Dad. Turns out his wife won tickets to see them but being the hardcore Dan Band fans that they are, they already had tickets… At first I politely resisted being the hardcore UFC fan that I am. But when no one snapped those bad boys up by midday, I had to. HAD TO.
So come late Saturday night Miss and I found ourselves laughing hysterically to the Dan Band. And yes, they even did their new Candy Shop song from The Hangover. If you ever get the chance to see them live, you will not be sorry.
Sunday I shot a wedding. Ten hours on my feet with nothing to eat (and all I made you was this poem). I came home to whoop me up a Lean Cuisine and I don’t know quite how I managed to burn it and fuck up the microwave that badly in under five minutes, but apparently I’m a) that talented or b) that stupid, but either way, now I’m wishing I had stopped at In-N-Out on the way home.
Now I’ll bet you wish you had taken your precious time to read someone else’s blog today. I don’t blame you. But to make good, I leave you with my favorite Dan Band performance of the night. (Although this version just has them lip-syncing the words. At the show Saturday night, they sang it AND did the dance moves. Fucking hysterical, people.)
You're still a far braver shooter than I. Ain't nothing getting this fat man to miss eating ten hours for.

No food for 10 hours? Wow. You know, if I ever get married, I'm going to make sure the photographer/other people I hired for the whole day have something to eat.
And that man has WAY better groove than I do. I find that very sad indeed. :)

It's always a win-win situation reading your blog. I either a)laugh until I almost pee my pants, or b)realize there IS someone out there just like me and laugh until I pee my pants. How's the tat??

I'll be looking for them! Looks like a fun time.

I have to see them now! That was funny! Thanks for sharing. Next time when you shoot a wedding write into the contract for food!!!

I can see how you would skip the fight to see The Dan Band. Hilarious!

That was a fucking blast. From directing you to the parking lot to saying goodnight. Good fucking times.
Now is it time for back rubs? LOL

I think when I first fell in love with you, you were talking about the UFC. Now you passed over the UFC Centennial for.... I can't even say it. It hurts too much. Nothing against the Dan band or whatever, but I'm taking this rather hard. If you're trying to get me to not sleep under your car at night just so I can see your feet every morning, mission accomplished. I'm outie. (love the new tattoo by the way, at least what wasn't partially blocked by your front tire.)

Somehow I stopped being able to concentrate at the In&Out comment. Yummmmm. Want.

As a fellow UFC die hard AND Dan Band groupie, I was truly torn. And I was at once proud and ashamed that I tore you away from UFC to watch the Dan Band. But hey, I got to meet you in person so that tipped it over the edge, I'd say! (Plus, there will be plenty more opportunities to see Mir get the smirk knocked off his face -- sorry, I resisted and resisted and resisted... but)
