If your friends and family are anything like mine - or if you're anything like me (which, I'm sorry) - than you could use a few unique gift ideas for the holidays. You've done the popcorn-in-a-tin for a neighbor, you realize people LOVE gift cards but you'd really like to give them something and you wouldn't mind getting a reaction when they open your gift because, well, it's so goddamn cool they won't even have to fake the "OH I LOOOOOVE IT!" obligatory reply.
So where do you find said gifts? Answer: My favorite online retailer (they also have a catalog) Uncommon Goods. They have gifts in every price range, for everybody and also have a huge selection of eco-friendly, organic and homemade lines.
And no, they have not asked or paid my to write this. Although they totally should. In fact, as far as I know, they're completely unaware that I'm doing this. So suck it, FCC.

I just got the catalog today. I sooo want one of the metal tampon cases! They remind me of the cigarette cases the men in old movies always had.

I just looked at this site for the first time last night. I fell in love with that birdie necklace, but completely missed the bacon flavored envelopes! Pork coated paper FTW!

Ticket stub diary. That is brilliant.
I have so many ticket stubs from years of accumulation, I never thought to do anything with them.
I even like to save my movie tickets if the movie was good.
Thanks.

I love some of those. Especially the kid gifts.
Completely random, but I saw this website last week and wanted to share it with you. It's cracked me up. http://whydidyoubuymethat.com/

I am SO EXCITED to get Gabriel colorforms this year. I loved them when I was a kid, and he loves STUFF LIKE THAT, and I'm just...I'm very very excited.

I'm sure I got one of their catalogs (I'm on every mailing list ever devised), but probably swept it out in last week's frenzied house cleaning...
So thanks for the links! Every year I swear that I'm going to do all my Xmas shopping via IN & catalog, yet every year I wind up back in the crush at Target...
